Let’s Focus on Smartphone Accessories
In this Article:
It’s safe to say that, as technology becomes more and more advanced, the devices we use are also becoming more expensive with each new iteration. It makes sense. Top of the line components aren’t cheap, and neither are the thousands of hours that go into coding the software that allows it to make the most of the new hardware. It’s a trend unlikely to change as technology integrates further into our daily lives. However, despite the many new innovations of recent years, such as VR headsets, A.I assistants and wearable technology, nothing can match the importance we give to our smartphones. Our mobile phones have been at the center of many new innovations, including new ways to keep them safe from damage or everyday wear-and-tear. So, today, we wanted to focus on some uncommon aspects of our most common device: Accessories.
When It Comes To Cases, Safety First
Design is probably one of the biggest factors when it comes to choosing your next case, however, not all cases provide the same level of protection. For most people, a sturdy but flexible case is usually enough to save their phones from the occasional slip or poorly planned placement. However, there are some of us whose really put cases to the test. We’re not even talking about mountain climbers, extreme athletes, adventurers or even arctic explorers, no. We’re talking about people like us who, for some reason or another, drop their phone all the time. Whether it’s the fact that our hand-eye coordination is unprecise, to say the least, or the fact that spatial awareness eludes our best attempts to keep our phones off the floor, to some, rugged cases are the only hope to keep their screens unbroken. Luckily, modern technology has allowed for some pretty awesome designs, even for those chunky cases designed to withstand pretty much the end of the world. This is great because, like we said in the beginning, the main factor when picking a case should be reliability instead of design, and we think it’s just cool that you can have both, regardless of how clumsy you are.
Keep Safe Your Window to the World
To finish up that last idea about clumsy hands, we have to talk about screen protectors. Just like the case of… well, cases, screen protectors also provide a degree of protection for your mobile device while also offering a few extra advantages. While some screen protectors focus entirely on resistance and durability (thank you!), there are others with different features, such as light filters or privacy screens. Privacy screens are built in a way that blocks or distorts light coming from your cellphone when seen from side angles. This means that the only person who can read the screen clearly is the person directly in front of it, keeping any private information on the screen away from wandering eyes. So now we’re not just talking about protecting the device itself, but whatever information is in it as well.
Only Good Energy
Finally, we’ll close it all up with the blocks of life. Battery life, that is. Charging blocks have experienced an evolution through the years, coming from proprietary plugs that only worked with specific models, to almost universal plugs able to charge many different devices. This, however, doesn’t mean that charging blocks are all the same. Some gadgets come with their own charging block to ensure the device receives the correct amount and flow of energy, which can be different for other gadgets. This means that, while the charging block slot is able to fit any USB cable, it might not be capable of charging the connected device correctly, which can lead to unnecessary battery wear. To make things more difficult, some smartphones no longer include charging blocks with their phones, making it all the more important to know which charging block does your phone actually use. Just check around the box the phone comes in and you’ll probably find it.
First Impressions Are Also Important
Yes, we know we just said design wasn’t as important as protection when picking cases, but that doesn’t mean that we think it’s irrelevant at all. Case design helps you make your phone unique. They come in all shapes, sizes, textures and colors, which is perfect to give a glimpse of your personality, promote a band you like, or give more exposure for your brand. There’s no way around the fact that a good design will always grab some attention, specially if your main focus is aesthetics above functionality. As such, there’s an infinity of different designs to cover all tastes, with some case covers opting to offer luxury finishes or lavished details in them. Despite the growing demand for unique and customized case designs, other case makers prefer to focus on offering additional functionalities. Some of the biggest examples of these functionalities are gaming controllers, credit card holders, fidget spinners (of course!) and backup batteries, but you’re sure to find many more with brief research online.
Let’s Talk About Money
We guess the main point we’re trying to make in this article is this: If you’re spending so much in your smartphone, which is probably the most important device you use, the very least you can do, is try to keep it safe. It doesn’t matter if you choose to get a rugged case able to withstand even the clumsiest of your days, a screen protector that keeps your screen safe from scratches as well as prying eyes, or even the right charging block for your phone. What you’re really doing, in all cases, is prevent any damage to your phone. Sure, you can charge your battery with the wrong charging block and hope for the best if you want, but you can also keep your battery healthy by getting the right one. Anything counts! These little add-ons and accessories do in fact make your phone last longer in the long run, which means less money on repairs and restoration. These savings become even bigger if you find a store that sells quality products by the unit, at bulk prices.
Just as mobile phones keep improving and technology becomes more and more sophisticated, it is very likely that their accessories will remain in constant evolution, coming up with new protection methods, security features and additional functionalities. And although not many people put a lot of thought into smartphone accessories, after all they’re basically just side-kicks for our phones, it’s also nice to know that whatever your lifestyle is, or how bad your level of hand movement is, there is definitely an accessory to keep your phone safe. And that’s pretty much all we have to say about that.
